In December 2011, the Tradegood Supplier Analysis team contacted Sunten Apparel for the first time to introduce Tradegood services. In April 2012, Tradegood invited the international chain store HEMA to attend the Shanghai Buyer Summit. HEMA’s sourcing goal was knitted apparel products and they had strict and specific requirements as regards their suppliers. After some matching and screening procedures, Tradegood Supplier Analysis team recommended Sunten Apparel to HEMA. At the Buyer Summit, Sunten Apparel introduced the company and its latest products to HEMA, demonstrating its production and compliance capabilities. HEMA also brought along samples from current suppliers for their reference. HEMA was very interested in Sunten Apparel’s products and, as a result of the initial meeting, paid a visit to the factory for further investigation and communication. Due to this successful matching experience with Tradegood, Sunten Apparel was very satisfied with Tradegood services and therefore signed up as a Tradegood member.
In May 2012, HEMA representatives, accompanied by Tradegood Supplier Analysis staff, visited Sunten Apparel’s factory and were impressed by the company’s production environment and facilities. After sending samples to HEMA and several rounds of negotiations, a firm contract for 20,000 pieces of knitted goods was signed between the two parties.
In the wake of its successful cooperation with HEMA, Sunten made contact with global buyer VF and, in July 2013, Tradegood invited VF to attend the Shanghai Buyer Summit. VF is a clothing and footwear conglomerate with an annual turnover of US$9 billion. VF owns many famous international brands, such as Lee and Timberland. The sourcing requirements for the summit were sweaters and outdoor jackets. Based on its years of experience, Sunten presented samples of a type and style very much in line with the VF requirements. After detailed discussion, the buyer was satisfied with the samples and quotations provided by Sunten, and expected to visit the factory for further confirmation and communication. In August 2013, VF representatives made a site visit to Sunten and were impressed by the factory environment, capacity and hardware facilities. After several rounds of negotiation, VF signed a sweater order with Sunten. Mass production was beginning in September.
Sunten Apparel highly appreciates Tradegood’s rich buyer resources and effective network and is very confident of expanding its business to global markets through the Tradegood platform.
