Brazil (official name: the Federative Republic of Brazil) is the fifth largest country in the world, both in terms of population and geographic area. It is the seventh largest economy in the world, the largest country and economy in South America.

Key Sectors

Brazil’s leading industrial sectors include:  textiles, shoes, chemicals, cement, lumber, iron ore, tin, steel, aircraft, motor vehicles and parts, and other machinery and equipment.  The leading agricultural sectors are: coffee, soybeans, wheat, rice, corn, sugarcane, cocoa, citrus, and beef.

 Agriculture accounts for roughly 5.5% of GDP, while industry accounts for 26.4% and services for  68.1%.
